Here is a good trick rent out a name which you don’t actually own even though you have a cartoon mouse by the same name. Apple was formerly licensed to use the name by CBS but last year a Man and Machine sued both for using the name.

CBS still owns the rights to use it for the cartoon mouse version but Man & Machine own the name when dealing with computer Mice. They make waterproof & silent keyboards, perfect for use in the bathtub…or spilling drinks all over. On their website you can indeed see a product called Mighty Mouse 5.

Now that Man & Machine own the rights it is unclear if Apple is going to attempt to license the name from them or look at a new name for its upcoming mouse range.

Looking forward to a new mouse from Apple I think the Mighty Mouse is one of the weakest accessories that Apple offer. How many of you use them? they are so overpriced, much better mice available for less. For now though it seems like the “Adventures of Mighty Mouse” continue….
