]]> At Optus Happy Place amidst much speculation Whirlpools Creator Simon Wright has announced there will indeed be a Whirlpool App coming.

He showed a slick looking preview version which supported  whims via push notification and kept track of unread whims across the online version of Whirlpool and the iPhone. It will also feature a news section and the forums.

In broader terms he talked about how he would like to see the quality of discussion improve and that he considers the site under moderated overall.

He also showed off his new Lingopal application.
